Business Analyst/Engineer — QA Duties, Financial Services

About the Position

We're looking for someone with strong investment banking business knowledge and experience who is willing to take on hands-on BA & QA duties: designing and executing test cases, validating data, and supporting UAT, alongside day-to-day collaboration with the trading and development teams. This position requires working in the US time zone and completing a background check.

About the Project

Supporting and enhancing a financial trading ecosystem, including order management, portfolio management, security master, and data reconciliation workflows, ensuring data consistency and reliability across interconnected financial systems.

About the Team

You will work in a small, cross-functional team of senior professionals. The team collaborates closely with US-based counterparts, sharing responsibility for requirements gathering and validation of delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Validate functionality across order management, portfolio management, and security master systems
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure accurate implementation
• Support reconciliation testing for cash, balances, and positions
• Perform database validation using SQL queries, stored procedures, and joins
• Participate in defect triage and contribute to issue investigation and resolution
• Use AI tools to generate and refine test cases and test plans, and to automate repetitive test steps or data validation tasks
• Apply AI-assisted approaches for large-scale data comparisons, reconciliation checks, log analysis, and anomaly detection
• Coordinate activities across teams and contribute to planning and tracking efforts

Requirements

• 5+ years of buy-side experience in financial services
• Knowledge of financial instruments, including Fixed Income, Equities, Options, and FX
• Hands-on experience with OMS, PMS, Security Master, and related systems
• Experience writing and executing test cases
• Solid SQL skills, with an understanding of database schema design and table joins
• Exceptional communication skills
• Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to embed them into day-to-day workflows

Nice to Have

• Understanding of front-office and back-office trading workflows
• Familiarity with SFTP configuration and file encryption
• Exposure to job scheduling tools such as ActiveBatch or Tidal
• Experience with test automation tools such as TestComplete or similar
• Background in software development or QA
• Familiarity with .NET technologies, including WPF, WinForms, or ASP.NET
• CFA or other equivalent financial market certifications
