Data Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a Data Engineer (Mid level) to support the delivery of the team's data products: taking part in discovery, designing and developing MVPs, and bringing them into a production environment with follow-up on each delivery. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, working closely with commercial teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and back.

About the Project

The data team enables data-driven decisions for the cargo business, integrating information in real time and in batch and running the data flow end to end with monitoring, business validation and data governance. Work is done on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, APIs) under Agile and DataOps practices. The position joins a role-structured squad, with a Technical Lead guiding the technical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work with the GCP component suite and contribute to solution design from the architecture level.
• Build end-to-end data integration processes using APIs, Pub/Sub, Storage and BigQuery.
• Ensure a correct data flow: quality rules, governance, cataloguing and compliance.
• Apply quality metrics, logging and cost control across the pipelines.
• Document processes and models in Confluence.
• Collaborate with technical peers in knowledge-sharing and learning sessions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Solid command of Python and SQL.
• Experience in data integration on cloud services (real-time and batch): APIs, storage, analytical components and relational databases.
• Experience with GCP components, in particular BigQuery (the rest of the suite desirable: Dataform, Cloud Run, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage).
• Working knowledge of data governance, quality and documentation practices.
• Experience building products and delivering to end users.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and Agile methodologies (desirable).
• Experience with agentic / AI-assisted development tools (desirable).
• Fluency in Spanish (team language) and intermediate English for documentation and international collaboration.
