Senior Scala Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Scala Engineer to join a small architecture team working on central infrastructure for a large-scale data analytics platform.
The team collects hardware information and operational metrics from approximately 100–120 systems and turns this data into meaningful insights about infrastructure health.
The role combines backend development, system integration, infrastructure work, and some frontend development.
Essential functions
- Design and develop backend services and infrastructure components using Scala.
- Process, aggregate, and expose hardware and system health data collected from multiple environments.
- Build dashboards and integrations that provide visibility into infrastructure state.
- Support automated ticket generation based on detected hardware or system issues.
- Work with PostgreSQL, AWS S3, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Scala.
- Experience designing and developing production backend services.
- Some practical experience with React.
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices.
- Experience integrating multiple systems, services, or data sources.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to architectural decisions.
Would be a plus
- Experience with Go.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience with AWS S3.
- Experience with monitoring, metrics, or alerting systems.
- Experience building infrastructure or operational dashboards.
