Senior / Principal Java Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Java Engineer to join our team in building and modernizing mission-critical enterprise services. This initiative combines robust distributed architecture with modern, AI-assisted development practices, requiring an engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and can seamlessly switch between complex architectural challenges and hands-on implementation.

Essential functions

• Drive the creation and modernization of enterprise services for the financial sector using AI-assisted development workflows.
• Take end-to-end ownership and responsibility for project deliverables with a strong drive to learn and integrate seamlessly into the team.
• Mentor junior developers and offshore team members, including reviewing the quality of deliverables (design, code, and timelines).
• Optimize API performance, ensuring resiliency and implementing caching frameworks alongside streaming/messaging platforms (Kafka and MQ).
• Participate in production support rotations and ensure critical issues are addressed promptly.
• Efficiently switch between different technical tasks, priorities, and project demands.

Qualifications

• Extensive (10+ years) hands-on experience working with Java 8+, REST, SOAP, Microservices, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Extensive (10+ years) hands-on experience working with Spring, Spring Boot, Solution Architecture, Design Patterns, Integration Frameworks, SQL and NoSQL.
• Strong exposure to AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Windsurf, etc.) with a solid understanding of optimizing token utilization.
• Experience with near/distributed caches and strategies (e.g., Redis, Apache Ignite).
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Deep understanding of software engineering practices, object-oriented analysis & design, design patterns, coding modularity, prototypes, and algorithms.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Advanced English level (both written and spoken)

Would be a plus

• Experience with AI, ML, and NLP concepts.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
