Senior Observability Developer with New Relic

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Observability Developer with strong New Relic expertise to help build and scale a centralized enterprise monitoring platform. In this role, you will design and maintain observability solutions that aggregate telemetry across multiple environments, support operational visibility, and enable reliable monitoring at scale. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and governance teams to deliver secure, scalable, and automated observability capabilities.

This project focuses on consolidating observability data from multiple platforms into a centralized monitoring ecosystem that provides actionable insights across large scale enterprise environments. The platform supports operational excellence through standardized monitoring, alerting, reporting, and governance processes while enabling efficient observability management across multiple business domains.

About the Team

You will work within a distributed team of observability engineers, platform engineers, SRE specialists, cloud engineers, and operational stakeholders. The team collaborates closely across technical, business, and audit functions to deliver scalable observability solutions and maintain platform reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain New Relic observability solutions across multiple environments and accounts
• Design and manage cross account telemetry aggregation and reporting capabilities
• Create and maintain dashboards as code and alert policies as code using Terraform and Crossplane
• Implement and optimize NRQL queries for enterprise level monitoring and analytics
• Configure and manage alert policies integrated with Opsgenie and future ServiceNow workflows
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to establish observability standards and best practices
• Support OpenTelemetry and ADOT based telemetry ingestion into New Relic
• Design scalable metric dimensions and tagging strategies that support large agent deployments while maintaining low cardinality
• Contribute to monitoring governance processes across technical, business, and audit domains
• Analyze observability data to improve platform reliability, performance, and operational efficiency

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in observability or SRE engineering
• Experience with New Relic (or an equivalent SaaS observability platform) operated as a multi tenant consolidation layer
• Experience with cross account or cross tenant telemetry aggregation and reporting
• Experience working within a technical, business, and audit observability segregation model

• AWS Bedrock AgentCore observability (Transaction Search, GenAI Observability)
• Kinesis Firehose metric and log forwarding pipelines (CloudWatch to New Relic)
• Cost and token attribution modeling for GenAI workloads
• Crossplane based provisioning of observability resources
