Senior C# Developer with .NET Core, Travel Platform

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to design and develop enterprise grade backend solutions using C# and .NET. You will contribute to scalable microservices, distributed systems, cloud native services, and cross functional engineering collaboration.

This project is centered on developing resilient backend services for a distributed platform with microservices, REST integrations, and event driven architecture. It supports scalable enterprise solutions across multiple functional domains and cloud environments.

About the Team

You will work with Solution Architects, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and other technical stakeholders. The team follows a collaborative delivery approach across functional areas and works closely with geographically distributed teams, including stakeholders in the Sydney time zone.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise grade backend services using C# and .NET, .NET Core
• Design and implement scalable microservices within service oriented platforms
• Develop services supporting multi source data aggregation, policy and rules enforcement, and extensible functional domains
• Apply microservice architecture principles including API First Design, Domain Driven Design, and bounded contexts
• Design and implement synchronous REST based integrations with internal and external systems
• Develop and support asynchronous and event driven integration patterns
• Design efficient data models using relational SQL and NoSQL databases
• Optimize database performance and manage data consistency across distributed systems
• Build resilient, scalable, and maintainable cloud native solutions using Microsoft Azure
• Implement appropriate resiliency, fault tolerance, configuration management, and distributed system patterns
• Collaborate with Architects, Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and other Developers throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Contribute to technical design discussions, architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards
• Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability
• Troubleshoot complex application, integration, performance, and production issues
• Work effectively with globally distributed teams and participate in coordinated meetings across time zones when required

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend software development experience with strong hands on expertise in C# and .NET, .NET Core
• Strong experience designing and developing enterprise grade microservices
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture patterns including API First Design, Domain Driven Design, and bounded contexts
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and implementing synchronous system integrations
• Experience working with asynchronous and event driven architectures
• Strong hands on experience with relational SQL databases and NoSQL databases
• Experience with data modelling, database performance optimization, and data consistency within distributed systems
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure native services
• Strong understanding of cloud configuration management, resiliency patterns, scalability, and distributed system design
• Experience designing maintainable, highly available, and scalable backend solutions
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, coding standards, and unit testing
• Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into effective backend solutions
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and collaborate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders
• Experience working with geographically distributed development teams

• Experience in the travel technology domain
• Knowledge of Global Distribution Systems
• Experience integrating with GDS platforms or travel suppliers
• Exposure to booking platforms, travel APIs, reservation systems, or travel content aggregation
• Understanding of the broader travel ecosystem and supplier integration landscape
• Experience working on large scale enterprise or distributed platforms
• Experience with multi source data aggregation and policy or rules based processing
• Experience supporting cloud native transformation or modernization programs
