Join EPAM Malaysia as a Senior Application Support Engineer. Bridging support and software engineering, you will focus on deep technical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and issue resolution. Work closely with cross-functional teams to investigate system behavior, analyze application logic, troubleshoot APIs and drive operational stability across business-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 and Level 2.5 application support for enterprise production systems
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently
- Analyze Java and object-oriented code to understand application behavior and identify root causes
- Troubleshoot APIs by analyzing requests, responses, parameters and integration flows
- Execute SQL queries and controlled data fixes within relational databases using established safeguards
- Trace issues across distributed systems using logs, monitoring and observability tools
- Contribute to technical documentation, standard operating procedures and knowledge base improvements
- Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups and sprint reviews
Requirements
- Proven experience in application support, production support or technical support engineering
- Strong ability to read and analyze Java or object-oriented code for debugging
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting APIs and complex integrations
- Strong background in SQL database management with PostgreSQL, MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server
- Demonstrated ability to work with logs, monitoring tools and observability platforms
- History of success in analytical thinking and root-cause investigations
- Confidence working independently to troubleshoot legacy or complex system environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical discipline
Nice to have
- Background in software engineering or post-release production support
- Exposure to Datadog or similar observability platforms
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
