Lead Python Developer (GCP)

We are seeking a Lead Python Developer to drive the development of core backend services powering an innovative, AI-driven platform for industrial automation and enterprise operations.

In this role, you will architect and build scalable APIs, design resilient cloud-native services on Google Cloud Platform, orchestrate AI agents, and integrate with complex enterprise systems. You will work closely with cross-functional Frontend, AI/ML, UX, and Product teams to deliver a highly reliable, production-grade ecosystem.

Essential functions

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Architect and implement robust RESTful APIs and real-time streaming mechanisms via Server-Sent Events (SSE) for AI recommendations.
• Build secure, resilient integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., PLM, SFC, Radix) with built-in retries, rate limiting, and fallback logic.
• Develop data persistence services utilizing Google Cloud Spanner.
• Orchestrate services connecting frontend applications with AI agents, retrieval systems (RAG), and backend workflows.
• Lead architecture and code reviews, establish contract testing/automated API validation, and ensure operational readiness in Docker/Kubernetes environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development with strong expertise in Python.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI (or similar modern frameworks).
• Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Cloud Build).
• Deep understanding of microservice architecture, asynchronous programming, real-time data streaming (SSE/WebSockets), and REST/OpenAPI standards.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational/cloud databases (e.g., Google Cloud Spanner).
• Proven background in building secure APIs (AuthN/AuthZ, auditing, rate limiting).

Would be a plus

• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks and tools (Vertex AI, LangGraph, MCP, RAG).
• Domain experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, electronics repair, or integration with PLM/MES/ERP/Shop Floor systems.
