Grid Dynamics is looking for an experienced Human Resources Location Lead to join our HR team in Belgrade, Serbia. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing local HR operations, supporting employees and managers, and ensuring successful implementation of global HR initiatives within the Serbia location. This is an on-site role based in our Belgrade office.
The HR Location Lead will lead the local HR team, partner closely with business leaders and global HR stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor on employee lifecycle, HR processes, compliance, and people management matters.
Essential functions
- Lead and support the local HR team, including task distribution, prioritization, and ensuring high-quality HR support
- Ensure consistent application of global HR policies and processes within the Serbia location, adapting them to local requirements when needed
- Act as a subject matter expert on Serbian labor law, employment regulations, and HR compliance matters
- Collaborate closely with the Location Lead, Finance, Payroll, and other key stakeholders to support local business needs
- Partner closely with delivery and engineering managers, providing guidance and support on people management topics
- Manage and oversee the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, adaptation, performance reviews, probation period completion, career development, and offboarding processes
- Support managers in employee development and performance management
- Monitor employee engagement indicators and HR metrics, analyze trends, and provide insights to relevant stakeholders
- Support workforce planning activities, headcount reporting, and organizational changes
- Support relocation and immigration processes for international employees, including work and residence permit coordination
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading an HR team within an IT or technology-driven organization
- Experience working in an international environment, supporting organizations with 200+ employees.
- Excellent knowledge of Serbian labor law and local employment regulations
- Comprehensive understanding of the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, performance management, employee development, engagement, and offboarding
- Experience with workforce planning and organizational restructuring
- Experience working with HR systems (Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar platforms)
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting HR data and metrics (headcount, attrition, reporting, Excel formulas, pivot tables)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with employees, managers, and senior stakeholders
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop HR team members and managers
- Fluent English and Serbian
