Description
We are looking for a Head of Growth Lab to discover, validate, and scale new multi-million dollar business lines within Muse Group's ecosystem. You will lead a small cross-functional team, run fast discovery sprints, and make data-backed kill/scale decisions — operating like a startup founder with access to 1.5M daily users, a massive content library, and the credibility of the world's largest music publisher.
What's in it for you?
- Build new businesses, not optimize old ones. You won't be tweaking conversion funnels. You'll be finding the next $10M product line.
- Speed and autonomy. Small team, minimal bureaucracy, quarterly verdicts. Ship experiments in weeks, not months.
- Massive distribution advantage. Leverage Ultimate Guitar, MuseScore, Hal Leonard, MuseHub, and audio.com — millions of musicians already in the ecosystem.
We are actively integrating AI and automation into all areas of the business and expect candidates with mindset focused on improving efficiency and deliver a better user experience.
Key responsibilities
- Find and size opportunities. Scan the intersection of audience × content × business model across Muse Group's portfolio. Build top-down revenue estimates before committing resources. Maintain a prioritized pipeline of bets.
- Run discovery sprints. Design and execute 2–3 week hypothesis-driven experiments: landing pages, MVPs, content tests. Drive acquisition from existing products and measure real willingness to pay.
- Make kill/iterate/scale decisions. Present quarterly findings with clear data and a recommendation. Every bet gets a verdict.
- Own the business case. Build and maintain unit economics, revenue models, and P&L projections for each bet. Translate early signals into scalable business plans.
- Lead a cross-functional team. Manage a small, fast squad (designer, analyst, frontend developer) plus shared backend, CRM, and research resources. Set the pace and remove blockers.
- Spot external tailwinds. Track regulatory changes, funding programs, market shifts, and new distribution channels. Move fast when an opportunity window opens.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience launching new products or business lines (0→1) — not just growing existing onesStrong quantitative skills: back-of-envelope revenue modeling, unit economics, TAM/SAM sizing — in real time, not in a spreadsheet after a week
- Track record of making kill/scale decisions based on data within tight timelines
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced, low-bureaucracy environments
- Comfort with deep ambiguity — no one will hand you a roadmap
- Fluent English
