Systems Architect - WLC

We are looking for a Systems Architect - WLC to guide the evolution of connected network operations, establishing the target architecture and rollout plan for a next-generation Unified Connectivity Platform that brings together Enterprise Wi-Fi, NMS, ACS, Analytics, Service Assurance, and AI-driven operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Enterprise Wi-Fi and Controller discovery sessions with stakeholders to confirm requirements spanning WLAN, security, AAA/NAC, RF, client experience, and service assurance
• Define the AP–Controller–Cloud architecture hypothesis, covering WLC, AP software/firmware, RF intelligence, telemetry, and multi-site management
• Assess OpenWiFi and existing capabilities to identify Build vs. Reuse vs. Extend opportunities and platform differentiation
• Drive architecture decisions and technical recommendations, covering SaaS, multi-tenancy, observability, analytics, integrations, risks, and dependencies
• Support MVP prioritization, effort estimation, and phased roadmap development, contributing to architecture documentation and executive recommendations
• Translate business requirements into scalable solutions, evaluating Build vs. Reuse vs. Extend approaches
• Collaborate across Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams

Requirements

• 12-18 years of overall experience in software development
• 12+ years of experience in Software Architecture and Development in Enterprise Networking/WLAN, Wireless Controllers, AP management, and large-scale Wi-Fi deployments
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7 and 802.11 standards
• Expertise in AP software/firmware, AP–Controller communication, onboarding, provisioning, configuration, firmware lifecycle, and OTA
• Familiarity with Qualcomm/MediaTek platforms
• Background in RF/RRM, channel and power management, band steering, load balancing, roaming, airtime fairness, and interference management
• Knowledge of WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS/AAA, NAC, Dynamic VLAN, MAB, and policy-based access control
• Skills in Wi-Fi telemetry, monitoring, observability, service assurance, client experience, and network analytics
• Understanding of OpenWiFi/uCentral, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven/SaaS architectures
• Proficiency in SNMP, NETCONF, MQTT, gRPC/gNMI, and streaming telemetry
