Senior Snowflake Architect with AI Data Platform Expertise

About the Position

We are looking for a Snowflake specialist who can assess a broader data ecosystem, define strategic initiatives, and provide hands on guidance for platform architecture and optimization. You will work in a stakeholder facing role with space to lead discovery, challenge assumptions, and present recommendations to leadership. The client is headquartered in California, USA, and candidates should have a valid US work visa or be able to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe. Occasional travel to client sites, including locations in Europe, may be required, with short onsite visits of one to two weeks possible instead of permanent relocation; the engagement is expected to last at least 6 to 12 months, with a three month checkpoint to review delivered impact.

You will contribute to a data platform initiative centered on Snowflake, data lake or lakehouse architecture, and strategic platform improvement. The project also includes stakeholder discovery, leadership presentations, and defining practical AI and GenAI initiatives across the broader data ecosystem. Project nickname: Data Platform Strategy

About the Team

You will work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of data architects, data engineers, analytics specialists, AI practitioners, and business stakeholders. The collaboration model is highly interactive, with regular engagement with leadership teams, technology partners, and business stakeholders to define and deliver strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assess the overall data ecosystem and data platform strategy
• Run discovery activities with stakeholders
• Challenge existing approaches and present initiatives to leadership
• Propose concrete initiatives for platform improvement
• Support Snowflake architecture decisions
• Improve platform scaling, governance, and cost and performance optimization
• Contribute to data lake or lakehouse design
• Contribute to data modelling and data quality practices
• Apply AI and GenAI capabilities on top of the data platform

Requirements

• Deep hands on Snowflake platform expertise
• Experience with Snowflake architecture, scaling, cost and performance optimization, best practices, and governance
• Experience with data platform architecture
• Experience with data lake or lakehouse design
• Experience with data modelling and data quality
• Practical experience applying AI or GenAI on top of a data platform
• Strong communication and stakeholder facing skills
• Ability to run discovery workshops or sessions
• Ability to challenge stakeholders constructively and present initiatives to leadership
• Strategic mindset to assess a data ecosystem and propose concrete initiatives
