Senior SAP Data Migration Consultant (SAP PP)
We are seeking a Senior SAP Data Migration Consultant (SAP PP) to plan, execute and manage data migration activities related to production planning processes during system deployments and transformations. The role involves diligent follow-ups with local business stakeholders to ensure data readiness for migration from legacy systems to the new system (S4), while balancing local requirements with the global template. Strong people skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate data migration activities for production planning modules during system deployments (e.g., SAP, ERP implementations)
- Analyze, map and transform legacy production planning data to target systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional consultants and technical teams to gather requirements and define data migration strategies
- Develop and execute data migration plans, including extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading and validation of production planning data
- Identify and resolve data quality issues and discrepancies throughout the migration process
- Support testing activities, including data reconciliation and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for data migration processes, mappings and validation results
- Provide post-migration support and troubleshoot any data-related issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field
- Proven experience in data migration projects, preferably within production planning or manufacturing environments
- Expertise in SAP and SAP PP (Production Planning)
- Proficiency in SAP PP Master Data Objects (Bill of Materials – BOMs, Routings/Master Recipes, Work Centers/Resources, Production Versions, MRP Views of Material Master)
- Background in SAP PP Process/Discrete Manufacturing (Process Orders, Production Orders, Planned Orders, Inspection Plans integration with QM)
- Experience with SAP PP-PI (Process Industries) – critical for Lifesciences (Master Recipes, Phases, Process Instructions, Control Recipes)
- Competency in SAP PP Demand & Supply Planning Data (Planned Independent Requirements – PIRs, MRP Profiles, Forecast Data) and SAP PP Classification & Variant Configuration (where applicable)
- Knowledge of integration touchpoints with MM, QM, WM/EWM, PM and FI/CO (especially relevant in a regulated Lifesciences/GxP environment)
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., S/4HANA) and data migration tools/methodologies, including ETL (extraction, transformation and loading) processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
