Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer who can take ownership of quality assurance processes and build scalable automation solutions for modern web applications, APIs, and distributed systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in automation frameworks, programming, CI/CD pipelines, test strategy, and emerging AI-driven testing practices. The candidate should be capable of working independently, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving automation best practices across the engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the QA automation strategy for web, API, backend, and integration testing.
• Design, develop, maintain, and improve scalable automation frameworks.
• Build and execute automated test suites for UI, API, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Develop automation using Python, Pytest, and Playwright.
• Create reusable, modular, and maintainable framework components using best design practices such as Page Object Model (POM).
• Automate REST API testing and validate backend services and integrations.
• Perform database validation and backend verification using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Improve automation reliability through effective debugging, logging, reporting, and root cause analysis.
• Partner with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to identify quality risks early in the SDLC.
• Contribute to test strategy, release readiness, and defect prevention.
• Evaluate and adopt AI-driven QA tools and modern testing approaches.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and actively participate in sprint ceremonies.

Requirements

• 7–12+ years of experience in QA Automation or Software Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in test automation framework development and maintenance.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Deep experience with Pytest including fixtures, parametrization, hooks, reporting, and parallel execution.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation testing.
• Strong experience in API automation testing for REST APIs and microservices.
• Good knowledge of SQL and experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of modern web application testing, UI/UX validation, and distributed system testing.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and failure-analysis skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
