About the role
We are developing Pixel Gun 2, a global multiplayer shooter with real-time PvP and cross-regional infrastructure.
For us, DevOps is part of the gameplay experience.
Latency, stability, and scalability directly affect how the game feels for players.
We are looking for a Senior / Principal DevOps / SRE Engineer who can build and operate game server infrastructure, launch new regions quickly, and make decisions based on real production and player metrics.
What you will do
- Design, build, and evolve Kubernetes-based infrastructure for game servers.
- Work with game server orchestration (Agones or similar solutions).
- Operate infrastructure across dev / stage / production environments.
- Launch and scale infrastructure in new regions worldwide.
- Contribute to multi-region and multi-cloud architecture.
- Optimize infrastructure for latency and real-time workloads.
- Improve automation, CI/CD, and developer self-service.
- Maintain strong observability: metrics, logs, alerting, incident response.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, game designers, and product teams.
What we expect
- Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with or strong understanding of Agones (or similar).
- Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, and system performance.
- Experience working with multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, and/or others).
- Ability to choose infrastructure based on region, latency, and load, not habit.
- Experience with monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalents).
- Scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or Go).
- Understanding of GitOps / IaC principles.
- Ownership mindset and comfort working with ambiguity.
Nice to have
- Experience launching or operating infrastructure in China.
- Background in real-time multiplayer or shooter games.
- Running Kubernetes at scale (multi-cluster, autoscaling).
- SRE mindset toward reliability and incident management.
- Interest in growing toward infrastructure leadership.
Why Cubic Games
- A globally scaled multiplayer project with real production challenges.
- Infrastructure decisions that directly impact gameplay.
- Freedom to influence architecture and technical direction.
- Growth of responsibility together with the project.
- A team where DevOps is a true partner to product and engineering.
