Senior Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Analyst with expertise in PowerBI to join a project with an international shipowner and operator. The client runs a fleet of over 40 vessels, both owned and chartered, across four shipping sectors. It operates in several regions and has a multicultural team with local presence in its markets.

You will turn operational and commercial shipping data into clear, polished Power BI reporting that goes well beyond default views. You will work directly with the business stakeholder who requests each report, through short cycles of drafts, feedback and refinement. This role suits someone who cares about how a report looks and reads, not just whether the numbers are correct. You don't need prior experience with shipping systems: you will get hands-on exposure to maritime data and voyage management tools such as IMOS.

Essential functions

• Design, build and improve Power BI dashboards and report views that go beyond basic default reporting
• Extract and integrate data from shipping/voyage management systems (such as IMOS) through APIs or direct data pulls, and maintain those connections
• Work directly with the requesting stakeholder through several drafting rounds: present report versions, gather feedback and refine them to their preferences
• Continuously improve report design, layout and readability while keeping delivery cycles fast
• Use Excel and SharePoint to prepare, share and publish reporting materials

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI
• Fluency in Excel and SharePoint
• Strong data visualization and presentation skills: able to make reports clean, legible and polished, not just functional
• Ability to deliver quick, high-quality turnarounds on report requests
• Comfort working iteratively and collaboratively with a business stakeholder, rather than delivering a single final product

Would be a plus

• Experience with IMOS (Veson) or a similar shipping/voyage management system, such as Dataloy, SoftMar, Voyager, Marlo, Logimatic or ShipNet
• Experience extracting data from source systems through APIs and managing API connections
• Background in maritime, shipping, chartering or logistics data
