Senior Automation QA Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Automation Quality Engineer with strong Java skills and experience in Big Data analytics.
The ideal candidate should have solid experience in test automation or quality engineering, strong database querying skills, and hands-on knowledge of Spark SQL, including aggregates.
Essential functions
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test solutions, actively writing, reviewing, and debugging high-quality code (Java/Scala and UI testing).
- Validate complex data processing, API responses, and database migrations using SQL, Spark SQL (aggregations), and big data workflows (Hadoop, Airflow).
- Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration pipelines to ensure immediate and reliable regression testing of data workflows.
- Verify data pipeline efficiency and scalability under heavy loads, ensuring Spark jobs process large-scale datasets optimally without bottlenecks.
- Partner with stakeholders, product, and engineering teams to clarify requirements, map out edge cases, and align on technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong Java development background (or basic Scala knowledge combined with solid Java experience).
- Significant experience in Quality Assurance / Test Engineering.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with databases
- Good understanding of Spark SQL, including aggregations and data validation
- Theoretical knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem
- Theoretical understanding of Apache Spark and Apache Airflow.
- Availability to join evening calls (till 20:00 Spain time)

- Practical experience with the Hadoop technology stack.
- Experience with database migration projects and API response validation.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Spark.
