Senior AS400 Developer
We are seeking a Senior AS400 Developer to lead the analysis, programming, and configuration of business applications on the iSeries AS400 platform.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements to design and configure applications on the AS/400 platform
- Develop software solutions using RPG (RPG IV, RPG ILE) and CL programming languages
- Write and optimize SQL queries to support business application functionality
- Create, execute, and document software test cases
- Provide support related to test case execution and documentation
- Maintain and enhance existing AS/400 applications to meet evolving business needs
- Integrate applications with external systems using FTP, SFTP, and SMTP protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure application reliability and performance
Requirements
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field
- 6 years of experience in software development on the AS/400 platform
- Proficiency in RPG (RPG IV, RPG ILE, RPG II S36) and CL programming languages
- Skills in SQL, query, and DB2 AS/400 for data management and reporting
- Expertise in AS/400 tools such as SDA, RLU, and store procedures
- Familiarity with data queue and OCL S36 concepts
- Knowledge of FTP, SFTP, and SMTP protocols for system integration
- Understanding of JAVA programming concepts
