We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master with a background in GameDev who will help the team build effective Scrum practices, strengthen self-organization, and improve the quality of team collaboration. In this role, it is important not only to have a strong understanding of Scrum, but also to apply it in practice: support the team’s development, collaborate with the Product Owner/Producer, remove impediments, and drive improvements at the organizational level.
1) Coach Scrum understanding and practice
- Teach and reinforce Scrum values, roles, events, and artifacts.
- Help the team become more self-managing and cross-functional.
- Support adoption of empirical process control (transparency, inspection, adaptation).
2) Facilitate Scrum events (and make them valuable)
- Sprint Planning: ensure a clear Sprint Goal, realistic forecast, and understood backlog items.
- Daily Scrum: keep it focused on progress toward the Sprint Goal; help the team improve how they run it.
- Sprint Review: ensure stakeholder collaboration and meaningful feedback.
- Retrospective: drive continuous improvement and help convert insights into action.
3) Remove impediments
- Identify obstacles slowing the team down (dependencies, unclear requirements, tooling, environment issues).
- Work with others to get impediments resolved quickly—without becoming the bottleneck.
4) Serve the Product Owner/Producer
- Help with effective Product Backlog management practices (refinement, ordering, clarity).
- Facilitate stakeholder collaboration when needed.
- Help ensure product goals, Sprint Goals, and backlog items are clear and transparent.
5) Serve the organization
- Coach leaders and teams on Scrum adoption.
- Help improve organizational systems that block agility (policies, handoffs, approval chains).
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and sustainable pace.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master.
- GameDev experience is required.
- Experience supporting one or more Scrum teams in the Scrum Master role.
- Hands-on experience facilitating core Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective.
- Experience working with Product Owner/Producer on backlog management: refinement, prioritization, task definition, and decomposition.
- Experience identifying and removing team-level and process-related impediments.
- Experience launching or improving Scrum processes within a team or department.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Part-time remote work.
- Salary in US dollars.
- Zero bureaucracy, minimal micromanagement and streamlined approvals.
- Small friendly agile teams.
- English lessons in groups of 3-4 participants.
