Responsibilities
- The Rigs & Test Capabilities Engineer will be responsible for designing, operating, maintaining and executing tests on automotive test rigs. The role covers system, integration and functional testing activities across several vehicle domains.
- Develop, configure, and maintain test rigs and environments to meet project requirements
- Conduct functional, integration, and system-level testing to verify system performance
- Contribute to verification and validation (V&V) activities ensuring compliance with specifications
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshoot issues, and carry out root cause analysis to resolve problems
- Operate and maintain test rigs to ensure consistent availability and stability during testing
- Analyze test outcomes and accurately document results and observations
- Collaborate effectively with development, system, and validation teams to support seamless workflows
- Prepare comprehensive test reports and technical documentation for project stakeholders
SKILLS
Must have
- Candidates must possess expertise in automotive test rigs and test environments, applying this knowledge to ensure effective testing and validation processes. Proficiency is required in at least one of the following technical domains, enabling focused application within the role:
- Human-Machine Interface (HMI), including displays, infotainment systems, and controls
- Body electronics, covering doors, lighting, and comfort systems
- Core systems and vehicle networks
- Propulsion and vehicle dynamics
Hard skills also encompass experience with ECU integration and system testing, facilitating comprehensive evaluation of automotive electronic control units. An understanding of automotive test methodologies and verification and validation (V&V) processes is essential to support quality assurance and compliance activities.
Soft skills expected include:
- Analytical thinking to interpret test data and troubleshoot complex systems
- Attention to detail in rigorous test planning and execution
- Effective communication for collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
- Problem-solving skills to resolve integration and system-level challenges
Nice to have
OEM or Tier‑1 automotive background
