Network Engineering Lead

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineering Lead to take end-to-end ownership of the Network Engineering domain across a 12-country European estate.

In this role, you will act as the single point of accountability for network operations, including incident, change and problem management. You will combine strong hands-on network engineering expertise with service governance, stakeholder management and technical leadership.

You will lead the transition of network services, coordinate an offshore engineering team in India, represent EPAM in client steering and architecture discussions, and drive continuous improvement and automation across the network environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the Network Engineering domain across a complex, multi-country European IT estate
• Act as the single point of accountability for network incidents, changes, problems and service performance
• Lead transition-in activities, including: network discovery and technical assessment, infrastructure and application dependency mapping, operational documentation and runbook creation, knowledge transfer and service-readiness validation
• Govern the offshore network engineering team through: technical and quality reviews, SLA and KPI tracking, workload and delivery oversight, weekly operational service reviews
• Represent EPAM in client network steering meetings, technical governance forums and architecture discussions
• Coordinate the resolution of complex network issues across multiple teams, vendors and countries
• Act as the on-call escalation owner for P1 and P2 network incidents
• Ensure appropriate incident communication, technical coordination, root-cause analysis and follow-up actions
• Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and automation initiatives within the network domain
• Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, operational efficiency, monitoring and service quality
• Maintain the required NIS2 evidence, controls and sign-off chain for the network domain
• Support audit, compliance and security-related activities concerning network services
• Ensure that network documentation, support procedures and operational controls remain accurate and up to date

Requirements

• 7–10 years of professional experience in network engineering
• Strong experience with AWS Networking and Content Delivery services
• Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS
• In-depth understanding of LAN and WAN technologies
• Practical experience with VPN technologies
• Experience with enterprise load-balancing tools and technologies
• Proven experience managing or supporting multi-country WAN environments
• Previous experience working within an MSP, managed services or IT outsourcing environment
• Strong knowledge of incident, change and problem management processes
• Experience coordinating distributed or offshore engineering teams
• Ability to lead major incident resolution and make decisions in high-pressure situations
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to translate technical risks and issues into clear operational and business communication
• Willingness to participate in an on-call escalation arrangement for critical network incidents
• Fluent English communication skills

Nice to have

• CCNP certification or an equivalent network engineering qualification
• Familiarity with NIS2 requirements and related evidence-management processes
• Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices
• Experience with network automation, infrastructure as code or configuration-management solutions
• German or Czech language skills
