Lead Workday Payroll Implementation Consultant

We are seeking a Lead Workday Payroll Implementation Consultant to support, optimize, and enhance a live Workday Payroll environment while partnering with HR, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Lead design, configure, test, and implement enhancements in Workday Payroll based on evolving requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll processing issues, calculations, and configuration anomalies
• Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders to gather requirements and perform gap analysis
• Translate business needs into scalable Workday solutions using best-practice approaches
• Develop test plans and execute unit and system testing for new configurations and changes
• Support user acceptance testing for enhancements and release impacts
• Ensure payroll configurations align with federal, state, and local compliance needs
• Optimize earnings, deductions, tax configuration, and accounting setups to improve accuracy and stability
• Support rollout readiness for Workday semi-annual releases impacting payroll
• Document configuration decisions, test outcomes, and operational procedures for support continuity

Requirements

• 4–5+ years of Workday Payroll configuration experience
• Proven leadership experience leading design, testing, and implementation activities
• End-to-end implementation experience across full lifecycle Workday Payroll or post-live optimization
• Advanced configuration knowledge of earnings/deductions, settlements, and payroll framework
• Strong knowledge of tax profiles, withholding rules, and payroll accounting setups
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to data accuracy and detail
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business language
• Self-directed work style to operate autonomously in a fast-paced production environment
• English proficiency at B2 Upper-Intermediate

Nice to have

• Workday Time Tracking configuration experience with time entry templates, holiday calendars, and calculation rules
• Workday Absence Management configuration experience with plans, accrual rules, and time-off types
• Workday Payroll Core or Partner certification
