For one of our clients we are looking for a Lead UI/UX Designer to own the player experience and interface design of our next large-scale RPG. You will lead and mentor UI/UX designers while remaining hands-on, turning complex gameplay systems into clear, intuitive experiences that reflect the IP’s identity. Working with game design, art, engineering and production, you will guide the experience from early concepts through implementation and live operations.
Responsibilities- Define the UI/UX vision, information architecture and quality standards across the full player journey, from onboarding to long-term progression.
- Design flows for combat, character collection, team building, inventory, equipment, quests, progression, economies and live events.
- Create wireframes, interactive prototypes and polished UI designs; build a scalable design system with reusable components and documented interaction patterns.
- Translate the IP’s visual language and world into an interface that feels authentic while maintaining readability and usability; support stakeholder and licensor reviews.
- Lead design reviews, mentor the team and coordinate priorities and delivery with production and cross-functional partners.
- Plan usability testing with research partners and use player feedback and analytics to improve onboarding, navigation and feature comprehension.
- Partner with engineers and artists on in-engine implementation, motion and feedback; verify interactions, visual quality and performance on target devices.
- Design for touch input, varied screen sizes, localization and accessibility, including readable text, contrast and clear interaction feedback.
Requirements- 7+ years of UI/UX design experience in games, including 2+ years leading or mentoring designers and owning design quality.
- Experience shipping at least one commercially released RPG or comparably complex, systems-driven game, with substantial responsibility for UI/UX.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating player flows, information architecture, prototypes and polished game interfaces, with clear explanations of your decisions and contribution.
- Strong understanding of RPG systems, including character progression, collection, inventory, equipment, combat feedback and in-game economies.
- Hands-on expertise in Figma , including interactive prototyping, component libraries and design documentation.
- Experience designing mobile interfaces and working with engineers to implement and validate UI in a game engine.
- Ability to balance visual craft with usability, technical constraints and production priorities, using research and evidence to guide decisions.
- Strong communication in English and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary, distributed teams.
Nice to Have- Experience with collection RPGs, free-to-play progression and live operations.
- Experience working with licensed IPs, brand guidelines and approval processes.
- Practical knowledge of Unity or Unreal UI workflows, UI animation and interaction feedback.
- Experience with accessibility, localization and adapting interfaces across platforms or input methods.
What We Offer- Ownership of UI/UX for a major IP-based RPG at a studio founded by industry veterans.
- Flexible employment terms, through an employment contract or B2B arrangement.
- Remote work across Europe, with office or hybrid options where available.
- A collaborative international team, company events and a competitive benefits package tailored to your needs.
