Lead Jenkins Scaling Expert
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Jenkins Scaling Expert with a proven track record of designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining large-scale, highly available CI/CD platforms.
The primary mission will be to architect the next generation of our Jenkins service, with a specific focus on scaling the Jenkins controller to support our growing organization. This role includes responsibility for auditing the customer's current Jenkins environment, then evaluating, designing, and implementing a solution to make it exceptionally robust, scalable, and efficient. This position is critical to ensuring that CI/CD pipelines are resilient and can support our growing development needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design of a highly available and scalable Jenkins controller infrastructure
- Evaluate commercial solutions (e.g., CloudBees CI) versus custom-built architectures to determine the optimal path forward
- Drive the implementation, configuration, and migration to the new Jenkins architecture with minimal disruption
- Audit the current Jenkins environment to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement
- Ensure the resilience and performance of CI/CD pipelines to support growing development needs
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the design and implementation process
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience, with a strong focus on Jenkins architecture and administration in large-scale environments
- At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
- Demonstrable expertise in designing and scaling Jenkins controllers for high availability and performance
- Background in architecture assessment for large-scale platforms
- Proficiency in CI/CD practices and tooling
- Skills in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Showcase of leadership capabilities in driving complex technical initiatives
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
Nice to have
- Familiarity with GCP's core services (Google Kubernetes Engine, Google Cloud Compute Engine, Google Cloud Storage)
- Experience with enterprise Jenkins solutions like CloudBees CI
- Broad experience with other CI/CD tools and ecosystems
