Lead DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a migration project focused on moving a large set of applications and data from an on-prem environment to AWS. With the foundation already in place (AWS landing zone, internal cloud team), this role is all about execution. You'll be part of a small, experienced team of 5–8 people, expected to work independently, self-organize, and keep momentum without constant oversight.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day migration work and keep things moving
• Lead by example through hands-on involvement rather than pure coordination
• Work closely with the architect to apply the agreed migration approach
• Ensure migrations are carried out consistently across the team
• Address real-life issues such as dependencies, environment gaps, and unexpected blockers
• Stay in sync with client teams whenever input or action is needed from their side
• Take responsibility for outcomes rather than waiting for instructions
• Maintain structure and process without overcomplicating the workflow

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with cloud migrations, with a clear understanding of common pitfalls and risks
• Proficiency in AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM) and lift-and-shift migration approaches and tools
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools
• Skills in CI/CD pipelines and scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshooting (VPC, routing, subnets) in cloud environments
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems
• Experience working in Agile teams
• Proficiency in English at a B2+ level
• Proficiency in Greek

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes
