At Exness, we are not just a leading trading broker—we’ve reimagined what it takes to be a leader. With 40M+ trades a day and 2,000+ people across 13 countries, we combine scale, care, and real tech to make trading better for 1M+ clients worldwide.
Recognised globally as a Best Place to Work, we’re a people-first company where long-term wins always matter more. As part of our team, you will shape the future of fintech with real technology, care, and purpose.
Why this role matters
As a Business Data Scientist at Exness, you partner with product, business, and engineering stakeholders to solve high-impact problems across our core business directions — Trading, Partnerships, Payments, and Client Relationships. You operate as an autonomous analytical unit: you uncover what actually matters, translate ambiguous business questions into data and ML problems, and ship solutions that change how the business operates.
You are equally comfortable challenging a stakeholder's assumption, deriving a clean estimator on paper, writing a robust ML pipeline, or arguing why a heuristic is the right answer instead of a model.
The role is based in our office in Limassol, Cyprus. In case of relocation, we offer full relocation support for you and your family to make your move smooth and worry-free.
What you'll actually do
- Engage with stakeholders to understand the underlying business problem, not just the requested artifact.
- Reformulate ambiguous asks into well-posed analytical, statistical, or ML problems with explicit success criteria.
- Own the full lifecycle: from data discovery and analysis to validation, deployment, and impact measurement.
- Ship an MVP early, iterate based on impact.
- Design and analyze A/B tests; apply causal-inference techniques when randomization is not possible.
- Build forecasts, segmentations, attribution, and uplift models when they are justified.
- Choose the simplest tool that solves the problem — heuristic, classical ML, or LLM-based.
- Validate offline and online, and understand the cost of complexity.
- Ship solutions that keep running reliably without your day-to-day involvement: clean Python code, reproducible training and inference, scheduling, monitoring, and version control.
- Turn analysis into decisions. Explain probability, uncertainty, and trade-offs to non-technical audiences clearly.
- Drive your recommendations through to actual change in product or process.
- Actively share your expertise with the team — through code reviews, internal tech talks, written knowledge base, and direct mentoring of peers and junior colleagues.
Who we’re looking for
- Degree in a quantitative or technical field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar).
- 5+ years in a Data Scientist / Data Analyst / Product Analyst role.
- A deep understanding of probability and statistics fundamentals.
- Strong applied ML — you understand what models do under the hood, when they break, and why.
- Practical experience integrating LLMs or agents into business workflows.
- Fluent use of modern AI-assisted development tools in daily work.
- Strong engineering culture: clean Python code covered by tests, advanced SQL (window functions, performance optimizations), CI/CD. You can build and own an end-to-end ML pipeline, not just a notebook.
- Proactivity and autonomy: you independently identify high-value opportunities, surface growth points, and initiate new research directions aligned with business priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management: you set clear expectations early, proactively communicate trade-offs, and provide realistic timelines and delivery forecasts.
- Constructive and persuasive communication: you can defend analytical decisions, research findings, and recommendations with clear logic while engaging stakeholders respectfully.
- Upper-intermediate or higher English; equally comfortable in technical and business discussions, both written and verbal.
