Why this role matters
The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and taxation operations of the designated office.
Key aspects of the role are ensuring the completeness of the accounting entries and compliance with the statutory reporting and taxation obligations. This involves staying current with tax laws and regulations, preparing accurate tax filings, and implementing tax strategies in line with the business's objectives.
The Finance Officer will play a critical role in financial control, which includes developing and maintaining systems of internal control to safeguard the company's assets and ensure that financial statements are free from material misstatement.
The Finance Officer should have the ability to provide accurate financial information for decision-making purposes.
What you'll actually do
- Taxation: Vigilantly ensures adherence to all pertinent tax codes, financial regulations, and legal requirements to uphold the company's fiscal responsibilities and legal standing. Will execute a thorough compilation of requisite data for the submission of appropriate declarations, commensurate with the company's tax bracket, thereby ensuring adherence to mandated fiscal responsibilities.
- Accounting: Oversees designated office accounting operations, encompassing cost accounting, general ledger accounting, and project-based accounting, ensuring their alignment with industry standards and best practices. Spearheads the development and enforcement of robust accounting policies and procedures to maintain financial order and consistency.
- Communication with local authorities: Maintains active and collaborative relationships with banking institutions, external advisors, and investors, providing accurate financial insights and fostering trust through transparency and open communication. Will keep communications up to date with relevant authorities through the corresponding channels.
- Audit and risk management: Coordinating with external auditors during audits and reviews; assessing financial risks and implementing risk management strategies. Manages and facilitates all facets of internal and external audit engagements to preserve financial transparency and accountability. Engages in proactive financial risk management in partnership with the executive team, contributing to a robust risk management framework.
- Internal controls and compliance: Establishing and maintaining robust internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Ensuring that the company's financial practices are in line with statutory legislation and regulations.
- Reporting control: Guarantees the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards and principles. Conducts thorough analysis of financial data to discern patterns, potential risks, and opportunities, furnishing critical insights to support executive-level strategic decision-making.
- Financial analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Global alignment: Align with the company Headquarters to ensure that all financial operations and reporting are consistent with global directives and contribute positively to the overall corporate objectives.
Who we’re looking for
Professional background: Public Accountant Degree will be mandatory, Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Legal will be valued.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the role, with a proven track record in international companies preferably within the Financial Markets Industry.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading large, diverse teams and managing complex organizational structures.
Language: Native spanish and fluent english speaker
