Join as a Data Analyst in the data operations team and maintain, validate and support macro-economic business data for customers. Work directly in the client environment, adhering to all device and security constraints, and play a key role in ensuring data quality and supporting investment data concepts.
Our client is one of the biggest hedge funds in the world, managing investments for a wide array of institutional clients, including foreign governments and central banks, corporate and public pension funds, university endowments and charitable foundations. We have a group of around 100 engineers (Devs, QAs, BAs and Project Managers) distributed between Westport (USA) and Malaga (Spain) working on one big solution.
Responsibilities
- Understand investment data concepts and how external data is used from both investment and technical perspectives
- Validate the accuracy of data concepts, providing domain expertise in market, security master and time-series data
- Collaborate with partners in the content supply chain to address data quality, architectural or logic issues
- Analyze and troubleshoot data issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Support macro-economic business data and maintain high standards of data integrity
- Document processes and findings clearly for team and stakeholder reference
- Participate in continuous improvement of data systems and workflows
- Adapt to working within client security constraints and device requirements
- Cover late shifts regularly and provide holiday coverage based on a US-based client calendar
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in English
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Economics or STEM field
- One to two years of relevant experience in data roles
- Experience working with time-series data and security master data
- Strong analytical skills and a systems-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced high-stakes environment
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
- Readiness to work shifts from 12:00 to 20:00 CET
- Willingness to provide holiday coverage aligned with a US-based client calendar
- High degree of personal responsibility and ownership

- Curiosity and passion for data and financial markets
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of financial data from sources such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv
- Familiarity with data modeling, data pipelines or cloud-based data solutions like Snowflake or AWS
