Automation Tester in JavaScript

We are seeking an Automation Tester in JavaScript to execute the test strategy across all eight Discovery Pod products — the largest product count of any pod in the portfolio. In this role, you will automate the highest-priority test cases for the newsroom and exhibitions products, validate the design system security advisory resolution, and manage test cases across a broad set of CMS-driven content sites. The ideal candidate is an organized, efficient automation engineer with proven Cypress expertise who can maintain quality coverage across a high product count without sacrificing depth on the most critical products.

Responsibilities

Automate the 32 priority newsroom schema test cases using Cypress
Automate the exhibitions cache invalidation test scenarios to prevent regression on the remediated pipeline
Execute regression, integration, and exploratory testing across sprint cycles for all eight products
Design and execute test scenarios for CMS-driven content publishing workflows, including webhook-triggered CDN invalidation
Validate the 27-locale internationalization layer on the exploration walk product across key locales
Test the CMS platform migration on the main site, verifying content fidelity and editorial workflow continuity
Validate the resolution of the design system security advisory and confirm CI/CD pipeline confidence is restored
Run visual regression tests using Chromatic to catch unintended component changes before release
Verify component accessibility compliance in collaboration with the Discovery Frontend Engineer
Create, maintain, and organize test cases in TestRail for all eight Discovery products
Triage and document defects clearly, providing reproduction steps and environment context
Participate in content operations sessions and align pod-level practices with the QA Manager and cross-portfolio test strategy

Requirements

2+ years of experience in automation testing with strong proficiency in Cypress
Experience with Playwright, GitLab CI, and Lighthouse CI
Familiarity with TestRail for test case management and defect tracking
Knowledge of axe-core and accessibility compliance testing practices
Skills in visual regression testing using Chromatic
Understanding of CMS-driven content publishing workflows and CDN invalidation processes
Background in internationalization and localization testing across multiple locales
Competency in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers and QA managers
English proficiency at B2 level or higher
