- Function as the primary escalation point when issues surface around posting mistakes, closing bottlenecks, system integration failures, incomplete documentation, or accounting judgment calls within your purview
- Maintain consistent adherence to internal control policies, SOX-related mandates, and formally established close procedures
- Lead reconciliation efforts between source systems and SAP, making sure significant variances are thoroughly examined and addressed
- Work together with regional controllers, local accounting professionals, accounts payable, treasury, and tax functions, plus other relevant stakeholders, on closing issues, accounting questions, and process changes
- Represent accounting operations during both internal and external audits, maintaining message consistency and ensuring documentation is audit-ready
- Foster the growth of junior accounting team members by assessing their deliverables and helping sharpen their technical skills and closing discipline
- Drive initiatives aimed at improving processes, establishing standardized methods, and testing new tools, reporting frameworks, and workflow enhancements
Requirements
- Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting, together with Colombian Public Accountant certification
- Five or more years of relevant experience across finance disciplines such as General Ledger, record-to-report, financial reporting, and audit, with a minimum of two years spent leading or supervising a team
- Hands-on experience in Corporate Finance or a comparable support role, coupled with a firm grasp of finance operations, core business functions, and operational nuances
- Solid problem-solving aptitude, including spotting issues, assigning priority levels, communicating findings clearly, and building and executing plans to resolve them

- Established experience overseeing process governance, leading improvement efforts, and streamlining workflows
- Capable communication skills paired with English fluency at B2 level or higher, facilitating clear understanding of business needs and their conversion into agentic architecture concepts

- Professional history at a Big Four firm or a comparably respected audit organization
- Hands-on background using SAP or similar ERP platforms to support financial reporting and reconciliation work
