Systems Engineer (Microsoft 365)
We're hiring a Senior Systems Engineer with deep Microsoft 365 expertise to help operate, maintain, and continuously improve a large-scale enterprise Microsoft 365 platform (several thousand users) for a major European client in the automotive marketplace space. You'll take ownership of complex initiatives, drive automation over quick fixes, and be a key technical point of contact across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
Essential functions
- Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID
- Automate recurring admin work using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph
- Plan and execute Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant consolidations, and tenant decommissioning projects
- Act as 3rd-level technical escalation point for the User Services team
- Drive post-M&A cleanup of distribution lists, shared mailboxes, SharePoint sites, Teams, and access objects
- Turn recurring support patterns into automation, documentation, and lasting platform improvements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 / systems engineering experience in complex enterprise environments (thousands of users)
- Strong expertise in Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID (incl. app registrations, enterprise applications)
- Strong PowerShell skills for automation
- Hybrid environment experience — Active Directory + Entra Connect
- Experience with M&A, carve-out, or post-merger integration projects
- Experience with tenant migrations, consolidations, and decommissioning
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent English; German is a plus
