About the Position
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a long term capital markets modernization program. You will be a productive individual contributor working within a squad, delivering backend features and integrations, and writing tests as part of the Definition of Done.
The role requires working from the office three days per week. The candidate should be based in either Cluj Napoca or Bucharest.
About the Project
DataArt is expanding its engineering capacity within a program focused on modernizing a live financial data platform. Engineers work within product squads, delivering features, addressing technical debt, and building test coverage. Teams are distributed across the EU, work fully remotely, and use Scrum.
Responsibilities
- Implement backend features and bug fixes across Java, C#, or Python services.
- Build RESTful APIs and participate in SOAP to REST migration initiatives.
- Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests as part of the Definition of Done.
- Contribute to data models and schema migrations using SQL.
- Participate in squad ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Experience with Java or C# (Spring Boot or .NET). Python experience is a strong plus.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and an understanding of SOAP integration principles.
- Experience with SQL, including query writing and schema design.
- Experience with Git, basic CI/CD practices, and unit testing.
- Basic experience with Docker and awareness of AWS services.
- Proficient English for technical communication (B2+).
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services, enterprise systems, or high volume transactional environments.
- Frontend development experience with Angular 2+ or React.js.
- Experience with schema migration tools such as Liquibase or Flyway.
- Knowledge of security scanning tools or Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) practices.
