The Role
As a Settlement Officer, you will be at the core of Salmon Bank's Cash-in-Bank Management operations — ensuring every payment is accurate, timely, and fully compliant. You will work directly with the Cash-in-Bank Management Head and cross-functional stakeholders, owning end-to-end processes from payment review to regulatory reporting.
This is a role for someone who combines sharp attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership — someone who keeps operations running cleanly while proactively identifying ways to make them better.
What You'll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Review and authorize payment transaction requests, ensuring all supporting documents are complete and accurate.
- Ensure timely processing and settlement of payment requests from various stakeholders.
- Monitor cash-in-bank balances and flag anomalies for immediate resolution.
- Prepare and submit STR (Suspicious Transaction Reports) and CTR (Cash Transaction Reports) in compliance with AMLC requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required regulatory and internal reports.
Controls & Compliance
- Enforce maker-checker controls and proper segregation of duties across all team processes.
- Ensure audit-readiness of the team at all times — organized files (hard and soft copy) with strict adherence to record retention policies.
- Comply with BSP, SEC, AMLC, and all other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strictly uphold company policies and code of conduct.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems while maintaining strong controls.
- Initiate and lead projects that benefit the team and the organization.
- Participate in UAT/UVT for new or enhanced systems that impact the team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and attend meetings to align on priorities and identify operational impacts.
- Promptly escalate issues with proposed resolutions to your immediate supervisor.
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation and act as reliever based on team relief arrangements.
What You Bring
- University degree in Accountancy, Banking & Finance, or a related Business course.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a financial institution.
- Solid working knowledge of BSP, SEC, AMLC, and other governing body regulations.
- Proven ability to handle high transaction volumes accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Risk-aware mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Project management capability and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with diverse teams.
- Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
