Senior Workday Payroll Implementation Consultant
We are seeking a Senior Workday Payroll Implementation Consultant to support, optimize, and enhance a live Workday Payroll environment while partnering closely with HR, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders. You will lead configuration improvements, resolve complex production issues, and help ensure compliant, scalable solutions—apply to make an immediate impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, configure, test, and implement enhancements in Workday Payroll based on evolving business needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll processing issues across calculations, earnings and deductions, and tax setup
- Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders to gather requirements and validate outcomes
- Perform gap analysis and recommend best-practice Workday solutions that scale
- Develop test plans and execute unit and system testing for new configurations and releases
- Support user acceptance testing and drive issue triage through resolution
- Ensure payroll configurations align with federal, state, and local compliance expectations
Requirements
- 3+ years of Workday Payroll configuration and implementation experience
- Full-lifecycle implementation experience across Workday Payroll deployments or major post-live optimization
- Senior-level leadership skills to act as a Payroll subject matter expert and guide stakeholders
- Requirements gathering experience with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams, including gap analysis and solution design
- Advanced Workday Payroll framework knowledge including earnings and deductions, settlements, and accounting setups
- Strong troubleshooting skills for payroll processing issues, calculations, and tax configuration anomalies
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced production environment
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)
Nice to have
- Workday Time Tracking configuration experience with time entry templates, holiday calendars, and calculation rules
- Workday Absence Management configuration experience with absence plans, accrual rules, and time-off types
- Current or former Workday Payroll Core or Partner certification
