Senior/Staff .NET Engineer

Grid Dynamics is building a new enterprise data platform on Microsoft Azure from scratch, together with the integration layer that feeds it. Our client is a UK-based sustainability-sector organisation launching a new national scheme. The platform will hold all of its operational data under strong governance, so the scheme can run transparently and evidence its performance from day one.

Essential functions

• Design and build contract-first REST APIs (OpenAPI, JSON Schema) and event-driven integrations on Azure API Management, Service Bus and Event Hubs
• Deliver integrations between ERP, CRM, ITSM, external partners and the data platform, from design through release
• Define the shared integration standards and pipeline gates other vendors build against, covering linting, backward compatibility, naming and the API/event catalogue
• Build in security and reliability: Entra ID, Key Vault, OAuth2/HMAC, retries, dead-letter and replay, end-to-end correlation and flow observability
• Automate infrastructure and deployments with Bicep or Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines
• Review user stories for clarity, feasibility and architectural alignment, and make sure acceptance criteria are complete
• Review code, mentor engineers, and step in for the Technical Lead when needed
• Work with architects, data engineers, QA, vendors and UK-based business stakeholders across a distributed team

Qualifications

• 8+ years in integration or backend engineering, including integrations you designed and built yourself
• Production experience with Azure API Management (policies, products, deployment as code), plus Service Bus or Event Hubs and Azure Functions or Logic Apps
• REST API design with OpenAPI and JSON Schema, and asynchronous messaging patterns
• C# / .NET or a comparable language, plus Azure security (Entra ID, Key Vault, private endpoints, OAuth2, HMAC)
• Infrastructure as code with Bicep or Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines
• Track record of code review and mentoring engineers
• English at B2+ level, with confidence leading discussions with client stakeholders and vendors

Would be a plus

• Azure API Center, Avro and schema registries, APIOps
• Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or OneLake
• Integrations with CRM, ERP or ITSM platforms
• Multi-vendor programmes in regulated or public-scheme environments with formal governance, such as a design authority or change advisory board
• Facilitating design workshops that turn business processes into integration flows
• Domain experience in sustainability, recycling, logistics, supply chain, or finance and billing data (invoicing, settlement, reconciliation)
