About the Position
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Practitioner to join a long term capital markets modernization program. You will be a senior individual contributor who can reason across the full stack, take ownership of features end to end, and actively participate in peer reviews and knowledge sharing within the squad.
The role requires working from the office three days per week. The candidate should be based in either Cluj Napoca or Bucharest.
About the Project
DataArt squads are embedded within client product delivery teams, building and modernizing components of a real time financial data platform. The program spans reference data, analytics API modernization, FX trade tooling, real time streaming, and desktop application migration to the cloud. Teams work fully remotely across the EU using Scrum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver features and refactoring across backend services within a microservices architecture.
- Integrate solutions with existing CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and infrastructure as code practices.
- Write production quality code with strong unit and integration test coverage, and participate actively in peer reviews.
- Debug performance and correctness issues in high volume, low latency data flows.
- Contribute to engineering dashboards and quality metrics used as evidence for program governance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with Java (Spring Boot) or C#/.NET. Python experience is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational database fundamentals.
- Experience with event driven architectures, including Kafka, REST APIs, and WebSockets.
- Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and S3.
- Experience with Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Knowledge of the OWASP Top 10, dependency scanning, and least privilege security principles.
- Proficient English for technical communication (B2+).
Nice to Have
- Background in financial services or capital markets.
- Experience with schema migration tools such as Liquibase or Flyway.
- Frontend development experience with Angular 2+ or React.js.
- Experience with observability tools and practices, including Datadog, structured logging, and distributed tracing.
