Senior Software Engineer – Java & Python

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the technical team to design, develop, and implement new features and systems integrations
• Ensure high performance and responsiveness of applications by writing efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Participate in the testing and deployment of new product releases to ensure quality and performance standards are met
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues as they arise
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java and Python for backend development
• Experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for deployment
• SQL experience for database management
• Experience with Git-based version control systems (GitLab, GitHub, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Demonstrated ability to engage with scientific stakeholders, ideally within chemistry or related scientific domains, to understand challenges and inform technical strategy

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with AWS environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with automation systems or software used in chemical synthesis workflows
• Familiarity with TypeScript and front-end development
• A proactive approach to learning new technologies and continuously improving technical skills
