Senior Software Engineer

Essential functions

·      Implement microservice architecture of Java-based search services using Solr, Lucene and Elasticsearch solutions.

·      Implement and manage cloud search services deployed in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

·      Implement search algorithms with in-house developed solutions.

·      Optimization and migration of search algorithms to Semantic Search.

·      Work in tooling and search solutions.

·      Develop comparison and results validation tools in Java and Python programming languages.

·      Develop and implement CI/CD Gradle-based framework.

·      Perform critical defect root cause analysis and resolution including tracking incoming requests, supporting and extending logging and monitoring systems for visibility and control, and resolving urgent production issues.

·      Engage in customer communication, consultations, presentations, discussions and knowledge transfer session with and about in-house processes.

Qualifications

·      Master of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. 

·      At least ONE (1) year of experience in the job offered or at least ONE (1) year of experience in the following:

1.     Java and Python programming languages

2.     Solr, Elasticsearch, and Lucene search engines

3.     Query performance and relevancy optimizations

4.     AWS cloud computing platform

5.     Apache Kafka
