Senior QE Engineer with Salesforce, Playwright and TypeScript, Hyderabad-based

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior QE Engineer (L3) with solid experience across the full testing lifecycle and strong Playwright and TypeScript skills. You will analyze requirements, design tests with AI-assisted tooling, build UI and API automation within the sprint, perform manual testing where it is required, verify defects through resolution, and contribute to release readiness for an assigned Salesforce CRM area. AI-assisted work is part of everyday QE practice on this engagement, with Cursor used for analysis, test design, authoring, and maintenance. You will also test Salesforce data, access, and automation across business personas, investigate cross-system sync failures, contribute to release verification, and mentor L1 and L2 engineers when they are assigned to the area. This position is intended for Hyderabad-based candidates who are available to work from the office.

About the Project

The client uses Salesforce as its system of record for customer, prospect, and service interactions across sales, service, community, membership, and marketing teams. Quality Engineering covers CRM regression, Salesforce changes, and the event-driven integrations connecting Salesforce to registration, commerce, finance, and partner systems. Playwright with TypeScript is the enterprise automation standard. QE engineers own the full quality lifecycle for their assigned CRM area.

Responsibilities

• Analyze stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications, and design test cases with AI-assisted tooling to identify scenarios, coverage gaps, and data and access risk before development begins.
• Own quality for an assigned Salesforce CRM area covering sales, service, community, and membership workflows.
• Perform manual testing where it is required, including where automation is not possible or not sufficient, and use exploratory testing as part of that work.
• Validate end-to-end business flows across the Salesforce UI, integration events, connected systems, and the resulting record state.
• Test the Salesforce data model, including accounts, contacts, person accounts, leads, opportunities, campaigns, and cases with their record types.
• Test access by business persona across roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, field visibility, and reports.
• Test Salesforce Flows, Apex triggers, validation rules, duplicate rules, and case routing.
• Write and maintain TypeScript and Playwright tests for Lightning UI and Salesforce APIs, using API setup and API or SOQL verification around UI actions.
• Automate asynchronous integration checks that wait for sync completion and assert the resulting record state.
• Use service virtualization so test suites can run when a dependency is unavailable.
• Own CI/CD integration for automated tests on GitHub Actions.
• Design test suites in TestRail and keep them aligned with automated coverage and CI results.
• Report, track, and verify defects through resolution in Jira, coordinating with developers, administrators, product owners, and business teams on priority and impact.
• Use Cursor daily to write, review, and refactor tests, and use GenAI, LLMs, agentic workflows, and existing RAG and MCP solutions in test design, generation, and maintenance.
• Design reusable, layered automation and maintain reliable test data and test personas.
• Investigate missing or stale records across integration events, dead-letter queues, APIs, and source systems.
• Support release readiness for the assigned area through story sign-off, pre-production regression, production validation, and regression of Salesforce seasonal releases.
• Mentor L1 and L2 engineers when they are assigned to the area.

Requirements

• Senior-level QE experience with substantial Salesforce testing expertise. Sales Cloud and Service Cloud experience is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of QA processes, test methodologies, the software testing life cycle (STLC), and risk-based functional, exploratory, and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model, record types, and the role, profile, permission set, and sharing model.
• Experience testing Salesforce Flows, Apex triggers, validation rules, and case routing.
• Strong Playwright and TypeScript proficiency for UI and API automation.
• Experience automating Salesforce Lightning UI.
• Experience with Salesforce REST APIs and SOQL, or an equivalent CRM API, for test setup and verification.
• Experience testing asynchronous, event-driven integrations.
• Experience with service virtualization for dependencies that are unavailable during testing.
• Experience with CI/CD and cross-browser execution using GitHub Actions, LambdaTest, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking using TestRail, Jira, or equivalent tools.
• Hands-on use of AI coding assistants, with familiarity with GenAI, agentic workflows, RAG, and MCP concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot integrated systems across events, APIs, logs, and downstream outcomes.
• Experience maintaining reliable automated coverage.
• Experience maintaining reliable test data and test users.
• Ability to assess data integrity and access-control risk.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineering, product, administration, and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

• Knowledge of AI driven test optimization and coverage analytics using SeaLights or equivalent.
• Experience bringing SAST, SCA, DAST, and code quality thresholds into pipelines using Checkmarx, Snyk, OWASP ZAP, SonarQube, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure including deployment, secrets management, database services, and cloud native infrastructure used in test environments.
