Project description
We're looking for Senior QA Engineers with deep hands-on experience in Selenium, Appium - mobile testing , and GitLab, coupled with strong knowledge of UK products and regulatory environments (e.g., FCA/ PRA/PSD2/UK GDPR where applicable). You'll own end-to-end quality across complex, distributed systems and low-code workflows, establish robust automation strategies, and partner closely with engineering and product to deliver high-quality, compliant releases at speed.
Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Ownership
Define and execute test strategies for Web, API, and Appium - mobile testing of applications across functional, regression, integration, accessibility, and UAT phases.
Translate business/regulatory requirements into clear, testable acceptance criteria and coverage plans.
Automation & Tooling
Build and maintain scalable Selenium WebDriver frameworks (Java) with robust page-object design, data-driven tests, and parallel execution.
Design and automate Appium -
Mobile testing, test scenarios (end-to-end process verification, expression rules, interfaces, working in iOS and Android driven environments).
Prior work with SauceLabs for cloud-based app testing.
Test data generation and management using TestDataManagement and TestDataServices.
Implement CI/CD quality gates in GitLab (pipelines, runners, test reports, artifacts, triggers).
Quality Engineering
Create and maintain comprehensive test assets (test plans, test cases, RTMs, test data, environments).
Implement API testing (e.g., Postman/REST Assured), mocking, and contract tests; contribute to performance test setup where needed.
Drive defect triage with clear reproduction steps, root cause analysis, and risk-based prioritization.
Proven ability to create custom dashboards, test plans, and execution reports within Jira to provide real-time visibility into software quality and testing progress.
Compliance & Risk
Ensure test coverage for UK regulatory and product obligations—privacy, security, auditability, records retention, customer outcomes, and accessibility (e.g., WCAG).
Contribute to audit evidence and change control documentation aligned with UK regulatory expectations.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with product, developers, business analysts, and compliance to align on release quality criteria.
Mentor peers, uplift QA practices, and advocate for shift-left testing and observability.

Mobile Automation: At least 3-4 years' Mobile Automation experience using Appium.
DevOps/CI: Hands-on with GitLab (repositories, branching strategies, merge requests, pipelines, runners, quality gates, test reporting).
Test Management & Integration: Expert in driving QA workflows within Jira, using Xray or Zephyr to design, execute, and track test cases, ensuring seamless traceability between requirements, tests, and defects.
UK Domain: Demonstrable knowledge of UK products and regulations relevant to the domain (e.g., financial services: FCA/PRA/PSD2/UK GDPR; public sector: assurance, accessibility standards; healthcare: data protection, auditability).
APIs & Data: API testing (REST/GraphQL), Oracle SQL proficiency for test data creation and validation, and environment configuration.
Quality Practices: Risk-based testing, RTM/traceability, defect lifecycle, release readiness, and non-functional awareness (performance, security, accessibility).
