Grid Dynamics·United Kingdom·Офис·сегодня

JUXT - London (part of Grid Dynamics) is partnering with Citi's Equities Technology organisation on a multi-year transformation to build a best-in-class global platform spanning execution, prime services, clearing, and cross-product margining.

The programme aims to modernise Citi's technology estate, improving performance, resilience, market connectivity, execution capabilities, and post-trade processes.

As a Python Developer, you will work closely with traders, quantitative researchers, structurers, and engineering teams supporting the Derivatives Flow, Delta 1, and Exotics desks. You will build production-grade, data-driven trading analytics, quantitative models, and front-office applications used for pricing, risk analysis, signal generation, backtesting, and real-time market insight.

This is a hands-on engineering role combining quantitative development, data engineering, and software delivery in a front-office financial environment.

Essential functions

  • Partner with traders, quants, and structurers to design and deliver production-grade models, analytical tools, and trading workflows.
  • Develop real-time pricing, risk, and market-data capabilities covering positions, Greeks, P&L, exposures, and execution monitoring.
  • Build scalable data pipelines and services for market data and trade data.
  • Develop analytics supporting idea generation, volatility and flow analysis, basket and index insights, and hedging strategies.
  • Build reusable libraries, APIs, and services to strengthen the desk technology platform.
  • Optimise quantitative applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Apply robust software engineering practices, including automated testing, maintainable architecture, and production-ready deployment.
  • Leverage agentic development frameworks and AI-native solutions to improve engineering productivity and software delivery.

Qualifications

Python and data engineering

  • Strong experience with Python and its data engineering ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with Polars, Parquet, FastAPI, Jupyter, Airflow, Streamlit, and Ray.

Data platforms and query engines

  • Experience with high-performance data stores and query engines, particularly Trino and KDB.

Financial markets

  • Experience working with financial products such as equities, options, and futures.
  • Understanding of trading analytics, pricing, risk, market data, or related front-office workflows.

AI-assisted and agentic development

  • Demonstrable experience with agentic frameworks for software development.
  • Experience developing AI-native solutions using context-engineering techniques.

Software engineering

  • Strong software development and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build production-grade applications and services with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

A degree in a quantitative discipline, such as:

  • Engineering
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Software Engineering

Would be a plus

You will work alongside experienced engineers and closely engaged business and product stakeholders in a front-office technology environment. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a major transformation programme and build technology supporting global equities trading, analytics, and risk management.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on quantitative developer who combines strong Python engineering skills with data-intensive application development experience and an understanding of financial markets. They should be comfortable working directly with trading and quantitative teams, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions, and continuously improving the performance and reliability of production systems.
