Senior Python Developer (with AWS skills)
Project description
We are seeking a hands-on talent to support delivery within the Total Fund Management Portfolio Management Technology team. This role is suited for an experienced, self-directed individual who can operate with a high degree of autonomy, take ownership of outcomes, and deliver working solutions with minimal day-to-day oversight. This is not a role for someone who requires detailed task breakdowns or constant direction. Once objectives and constraints are clear, you are expected to independently drive work to completion, proactively manage risks, and communicate progress effectively. This role is opened for subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- - Own timelines and deliverables within the team, proactively managing scope, dependencies, and execution risks. - Independently design software solutions by engaging stakeholders to clarify requirements and challenge assumptions. - Develop scalable, efficient solutions aligned with client technology standards. - Drive implementation across the full development lifecycle. - Ensure solutions are production-ready with proactive documentation and handover. - Act as a reliable execution partner, escalating issues early when required.
SKILLS
Must have
- - Prior consulting, advisory, or client-facing delivery experience. - Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments. - Proven independent delivery without close supervision. - Strong Python experience in enterprise environments. - Agile/Scrum experience with Jira, Confluence, and Git. - Cloud experience, preferably AWS. - CI/CD pipeline experience. - Unit and integration testing experience.
Nice to have
- Web development using Dash, Angular, or React. - BI and reporting tools experience, preferably Amazon QuickSight. - Capital markets or investment management experience. - Terraform for infrastructure as code. - Jupyter notebooks for analysis and reporting.
