Senior Linux System Administrator

We are looking for a a hands-on Linux sysadmin with 7+ years of daily server administration (RHEL/AlmaLinux, Apache, PostgreSQL, Postfix, VPN/firewalls, backups, patching), not a DevOps, CI/CD or Kubernetes profile where Linux is only secondary.

Essential functions

• Monitor, maintain, and improve Linux infrastructure across multiple regions/cloud providers
• Ensure stability and performance of core services (web, database, backup)
• Perform OS/security updates with proper testing and documentation
• Diagnose and resolve system, network, and performance issues (prod + staging)
• Participate in shared on-call rotation for critical incidents
• Coordinate with dev/QA teams on safe, tested releases and deployments
• Collaborate with other sysadmins/DevOps engineers; contribute to shared documentation, runbooks, and operational standards
• Support migration of applications/services to Kubernetes
• Manage containerized services (e.g., Postfix, monitoring, SSO)
• Contribute to automation (config management, CI/CD, monitoring)
• Own backup, recovery, and patching processes
• Manage VPN, DNS, and firewall configurations across regions
• Maintain backups/DR/hardening in line with ISO 27001
• Administer Apache, PostgreSQL, Nextcloud, Office 365 integration
• Ensure access management, permissions, and change auditability

Qualifications

• 7+ years production Linux administration experience
• Strong Linux config/monitoring/troubleshooting background (AlmaLinux or RHEL preferred)
• Cloud infrastructure management experience (AWS, Oracle, or GCP — at least one)
• Practical Docker/Kubernetes experience
• Network administration familiarity (VPN, DNS, firewalls, routing)
• Experience with Apache, PostgreSQL, Postfix
• Bash scripting competence; Ansible (or similar) a plus
• Solid grasp of security, backup, and recovery procedures
• Fluent English (spoken and written); strong remote collaboration skills
