This role requires a Senior KDB+ development professional to support the implementation of a market surveillance solution within capital markets. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data-driven applications that detect potential trading misconduct and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards. The position blends strong hands-on KDB+ development skills with knowledge of FICC products, trade lifecycle, and surveillance workflows, and offers scope for technical ownership and leadership across global teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex components within the KDB+ platform
- Ensure high-quality, maintainable code through code reviews and adherence to development standards
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other developers to define technical solutions aligned with business goals
- Perform in-depth analysis of systems and provide recommendations for performance optimization and scalability
- Oversee software build, release, and deployment activities across development, test, and production environments
- Troubleshoot critical issues related to deployment, environment stability, and data integrity
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and support audit or compliance needs
SKILLS
Must have
- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in q and KDB+ development, including architecture and optimization of large-scale time-series data platforms
- Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring KDB or KX development teams in enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of Ab Initio or similar ETL and data integration technologies
- Solid experience working in Unix or Linux environments
- Good understanding of capital markets with exposure to FICC products and end-to-end trade lifecycle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven experience in performance tuning and data accuracy
- Experience delivering solutions in Agile delivery models with ownership of timelines and quality
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
• Knowledge of banking surveillance or regulatory reporting systems
• Exposure to global trading regulations such as FCA, MAR, or equivalent frameworks
