Senior Java Developer with Spring Boot

About the Position

This is an onsite role, and we're seeking someone who will work directly from the client's office in Nicosia. Relocation conditions: A 2,000-euro relocation bonus (3,000 euros if relocating with family).

Cloud Platform is focused on developing modern Java based services and APIs in a cloud environment. The project uses microservices, containerization, and Kubernetes to support reliable and scalable application delivery.

About the Team

You will work with an engineering team that collaborates closely with architects, product managers, and cross functional specialists. The team supports shared ownership of system design, delivery, code quality, documentation, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design high performance Java applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot
• Develop and maintain Java applications in production environments
• Build RESTful APIs for business and integration needs
• Optimize microservices architectures for scalability and reliability
• Develop cloud native solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Deploy applications in Kubernetes environments
• Manage Kubernetes based application environments
• Troubleshoot applications running in Kubernetes environments
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for application delivery
• Automate deployment processes across delivery workflows
• Collaborate with architects to deliver business requirements
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver business requirements
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver business requirements
• Ensure application scalability across supported services
• Ensure application security across supported services
• Ensure application reliability across supported services
• Ensure application performance across supported services
• Participate in code reviews across the engineering team
• Mentor junior engineers in development practices
• Mentor mid level engineers in development practices
• Monitor production applications and infrastructure
• Troubleshoot production applications and infrastructure
• Contribute to system design decisions
• Contribute to technical documentation
• Contribute to engineering best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands on experience in Java development
• Experience with Java 17+
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Hands on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Understanding of containerization technologies including Docker
• Experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
• Knowledge of REST APIs
• Knowledge of messaging systems
• Knowledge of integration patterns
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
• Understanding of cloud security practices
• Understanding of observability practices
• Understanding of monitoring practices
• Experience with Git
• Experience with modern software development methodologies
• Upper Intermediate or higher English proficiency
