We are hiring two Senior Software Engineers to contribute to Fluxnova, the open source successor of Camunda 7. You will work closely with senior engineers across the globe, shaping the future of a widely used workflow engine that powers complex, mission critical processes. This role offers a rare combination of deep backend engineering, real open source contribution, and production grade scale
Responsibilities
- Design, build and evolve core backend components of the Fluxnova platform
- Contribute directly to an active open source project used by teams worldwide
- Collaborate with experienced engineers in a distributed, senior-level setup
- Improve scalability, reliability and performance of workflow execution
- Review code, influence architecture decisions and help set engineering standards
- Work close to real production use cases, not toy problems
SKILLS
Must have
- Strong experience as a senior backend engineer
- Solid Java expertise and hands on experience with Spring Boot
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL, persistence, transactions)
- Experience with JavaScript based web technologies (frontend or integration level)
- Clean coding practices, design thinking, and ownership mindset
Nice to have
•Experience with Camunda 7 or BPM/workflow engines •Previous open source contributions (code, reviews, RFCs, maintenance) •Experience working in globally distributed engineering teams •Understanding of asynchronous processing and distributed systems
