Project description
Building a trading platform for innovative international top-tier hedge fund from the ground up, comprising of front-office system for traders, pre-trade checks and analysis, intra-day positions management, order management and routing, risks and limits management, reports of trading activities, FIX connectivity, market data providers connectivity (e.g. Bloomberg B-pipe).
Responsibilities
- - Maintain and improve existing backend services.
- Design, develop, and implement new backend services and APIs.
- Investigate production issues by analyzing application behavior, logs, and system performance to identify root causes.
- Provide continuous support, maintenance, and enhancements for existing applications.
SKILLS
Must have
- The role requires expertise supported by a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or a related field.
Hard skills include:
- Proficient knowledge of Java, encompassing collections, multithreading and concurrency, and JVM memory management.
- Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Practical experience with Apache Kafka and Docker.
- Basic proficiency in Linux administration and command-line operations.
- Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
- Experience in working with REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Capability to provide level 3 support for production trading systems as needed.
Soft skills expected:
- Readiness and availability to address critical support issues in production environments.
Nice to have
- Experience in hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, brokers, or other financial services companies, demonstrating industry-specific knowledge.
- Experience with AWS, indicating familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services.
- Experience supporting production applications, showcasing the ability to maintain and troubleshoot live systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, reflecting skills in system performance tracking and issue detection.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, illustrating knowledge of automated software deployment processes.
