Senior Java Backend Developer

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer with 10+ years of experience in enterprise environments, ideally within the financial industry. In this role, you will design and build robust, scalable backend services and APIs, leveraging modern cloud-native technologies to deliver high-quality solutions in an Agile team setting.

This position follows a flexible hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the office in Wrocław.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and APIs using Java and the Spring ecosystem
• Build and maintain Web and/or REST APIs as well as message-driven services
• Develop, deploy, and run containerized applications in cloud environments
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and manage container orchestration on Azure
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools into daily development workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality features
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues across the stack
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a backend developer in enterprise environments, ideally within the financial industry
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming with Java 11+
• Expertise in Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem
• Background in developing Web and/or REST APIs and message-driven services
• Skills in building and running containerized applications
• Strong experience with Azure cloud, including Terraform (IaC), Kubernetes (AKS), and container orchestration
• Familiarity with Azure Compute (VMs) and storage solutions (e.g., Azure Files)
• Solid Linux/Unix knowledge, including shell scripting and system understanding
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) integrated into development workflows
• Competency with GitLab, GitHub, IntelliJ, and VS Code
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience working in Agile (Scrum) teams
• Fluency in English with a proficiency level of B2 or higher

Nice to have

• Understanding of microservices architecture and system design
• Knowledge of messaging and integration technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, and Tibco EMS
• Experience with relational databases, including Azure SQL, Oracle, and Sybase
• Familiarity with testing frameworks for unit, integration, and E2E testing
• Skills in CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub) and monitoring and observability practices
