About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer responsible for operating, maintaining, and evolving Linux-based infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid environments.
The role is hands-on and focused on system administration, automation using Chef, and reliable day-to-day platform operations. The engineer will work with on-prem infrastructure as the primary environment while also supporting cloud and hybrid connectivity (GCP, AWS, Megaport), treating the platform as a single, integrated system and ensuring stability, scalability, and predictable behavior in production.

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain on-premises infrastructure based on bare-metal Debian Linux servers
- Manage OS-level configuration, networking, and system services
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using Chef
- Manage infrastructure state via Git repositories following GitOps principles
- Standardize and continuously improve infrastructure deployment workflows
- Manage and operate hybrid connectivity across GCP, AWS, Megaport, and on-prem data centers
- Design and maintain VPC networking, routing, and firewall rules
- Operate hybrid connectivity (Direct Connect, Cloud Interconnect, VPN)
- Configure and support BGP routing between cloud and on-prem environments
- Ensure high availability, redundancy, and fault tolerance of network connectivity
- Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across cloud and on-prem layers
Qualifications
On-Prem & Linux
- Strong hands-on experience administering Debian-based systems in production environments
- Solid understanding of bare-metal infrastructure operations
- Knowledge of Linux networking (TCP/IP, system bottlenecks)
- Experience operating large-scale Linux environments with high availability requirements
- Experience with system hardening, patching, and OS lifecycle management
Automation & Configuration Management
- Practical experience with configuration management tools (Chef/Puppet/Salt)
- Strong experience with Terraform
- Confident scripting (Bash/Ruby/Python)
Cloud & Hybrid Networking
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP and AWS
- Practical knowledge of VPC architecture, subnets, routing, and firewall rules
Platform & Operations
- Understanding of load balancers (NGINX, HAProxy)
- Experience with centralized logging (Graylog)
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot production infrastructure
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

- Structured, engineering-driven approach to problem solving
- English proficiency: B1+
Nice-to-Have
- Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters (on-prem or cloud)
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix)
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox VE, VMware, KVM)
