We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure / Cloud Engineer to join a managed engineering capacity team supporting the client's platform. The engineer will work within an AWS-based Kubernetes production environment and contribute to infrastructure modernization, CI/CD and tooling migrations, environment hardening, identity governance integration, observability improvements, and cloud platform readiness initiatives. This role will support a 12-month managed capacity engagement focused on clearing technical debt and modernization backlog while working closely with the client's infrastructure, platform, and product engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and improve Kubernetes-based infrastructure for production web services and workers
- Contribute to CI/CD modernization, including GitHub Actions pipeline design, migration, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Support repository, tooling, and work management migrations, including GitHub and JIRA-related integrations
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Terraform
- Improve deployment automation and support GitOps or declarative deployment practices
- Support AWS cloud infrastructure, including platform services such as RDS PostgreSQL, S3, CloudFront, Redis, and related components
- Contribute to environment hardening, access control, and secure infrastructure configuration
- Support identity and access governance initiatives, including integration with enterprise IGA platforms
- Improve monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices using tools such as Datadog
- Participate in agile ceremonies, technical design discussions, implementation planning, and infrastructure reviews
- Document infrastructure changes, operational runbooks, and handoff materials
- Collaborate with the client's teams to ensure changes meet security, compliance, and engineering quality standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering experience
- Expertise in Kubernetes in production environments and strong AWS cloud experience
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
- Deep experience in CI/CD, including GitHub Actions pipeline design and migration
- Experience with deployment automation, GitOps, or declarative infrastructure practices
- Understanding of cloud security, access control, RBAC, and least-privilege principles
- Experience supporting production-grade infrastructure, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident analysis
- Familiarity with observability tooling, preferably Datadog
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern working hours
